Hangar 79 didn't begin in a warehouse. It began with $1,000, an apartment, and an idea.

We wanted to see whether it was possible to build a real model-kit shop from the ground up without a huge investment, thousands of products, or a corporate operation behind it.

So we started small.

One shelving rack. A shipping station. A handful of carefully chosen kits. And a commitment to build the kind of hobby store we'd want to buy from ourselves.

The experience of buying a model kit should be just as enjoyable as building one.
That means carrying kits we actually believe builders will enjoy, offering the tools needed to build them, being honest about what's really in stock, and taking the time to package orders properly before they leave the Hangar.

We're especially serious about packaging. A model-kit box shouldn't become the shipping box. Every order is packed with the goal of getting your kit to you in the same condition we'd want to receive it ourselves.
We're also building Hangar 79 differently.
Instead of pretending we started as some giant hobby retailer, we're documenting the journey — from the original $1,000 startup budget to our first distributor orders, first customers, first restocks, and whatever comes next.

Whether you're building your first Entry Grade or adding another Master Grade to a growing collection, we want Hangar 79 to feel less like an anonymous online warehouse and more like your local model-kit shop that happens to be online.
